Since the launch of the latest and powerful Boss 302 has been more than 40 years. Exactly, it was in 1968 when Ford decided to offer as an option the engine 302, a model who enjoyed the best season (and the most beautiful of appearance) of the Mustang, with a generous exterior dimensions and powerful V8 engines. With 302 points, Ford also disappeared, leaving only the logo as identification of the Mustang.

The years “golden” Mustang at the time concluded the 70, where they came together to sell models for all tastes: the Mach 1, Boss 302 and Boss 429. I happen shortly after the Boss 351, Boss 429 and the Ram Air 429, in the same period. Boss 351 would finally, to replace the 302 and 429, which included safety hood latches and special racing decals, plus dual exhaust. Shortly thereafter, the GT versions which would happen to the Boss models.

We are talking thus all a nod by Ford to the legendary muscle car, updated in terms of aesthetics, but without losing both its spirit and its beauty. Unlike the case in its early days, where the GT was created from the Boss, it is now, ironically, the opposite, and the Boss has been created from the GT version. It has a 440 hp engine 5.0 cubic liters, 440 Nm NPAR or controlled by a gearbox six-speed manual. Logically, both engine power as the gearbox, which is manual, has required a set-up clutch, which had to be reinforced.

Ford has not been set in comfort, precisely for the Boss, and have removed 5kg terminate based acoustic insulation material. Ford will sell also a heavier, more racing: Racing Boss 302R, it is called, precisely, that has been built with a more rigid suspension and aero kit. Not suitable for all audiences.
